In Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is seeking to seize control of Armenia’s ancient national church, and to silence the voices of the 150,000 Armenian Christians driven from their homeland in Artsakh/Nagorno Karabakh. As part of this campaign of repression, Armenia’s increasingly authoritarian government has indicted or detained a growing number of citizens on politically-motivated charges.
CSI calls on the Armenian authorities to end their campaign against the church, end its politicised prosecutions, and free all political prisoners immediately.
